The sound of Tsugaru glass wind chimes brings a cool feeling.
"Suzumi" is a wind chime that evokes the summer scenery with its colorful hues and cool sound that are unique to Tsugaru Vidro. During production, they paid particular attention to the tone, and used crystal glass for the tongue that touches the glass body. The tongue is also handmade by a craftsman, so you can enjoy the different tones of each one.
The color of the wind chime expresses the way the sky brightens as the moon rises. Its changing colors give it a variety of different expressions.
Founded in 1949, Hokuyo Glass, the manufacturer of Tsugaru Vidro, started out as a manufacturer of floating balls for fishing. The floating balls that blow up were praised for their reliable quality, and in 1973 they became the top producer in Japan. This is a workshop that creates handmade glass that evokes the image of Aomori's nature, using techniques such as "air blowing" cultivated over many years of manufacturing floating beads.
